Protein Bars For Getting Rid Of Fat

Protein Bar

By Colleen Flowers

Most of us snack on protein bars to give us energy after an extreme workout. They can also be a hassle-free travel meal, an occasional mini-meal when we are in a rush or a meal replacement if we are attempting to cut down on our calorie intake.

In a majority of these situations, we are picking protein bars to stay healthy and sometimes slim down. Nevertheless, when you are staring at a store rack loaded with products, how do you know which bars are better for losing weight?

The Short Answer:

The bottom line is that we want to avoid sugar and processed ingredients. Some individuals search for "low carb" on item packaging, but you do not want to be tricked into eating a lot of processed reduced carb garbage either.

But There's an Obstacle ...

A big difficulty is that many protein bars contain a considerable quantity of sugar, and some include a variety of several types of sweetener. Some labels even note sugar as the first ingredient!

I realize that sugar improves food taste, however, protein bars containing a great deal of sugar are basically candy bars in disguise, in my opinion. This is similar to a chocolate chip breakfast muffin - isn't that really a cupcake in disguise? Hmm ...

Exactly What to Search for if You are Looking to Lose Weight:

If you want a very sweet protein bar, that's fine. It just will not aid you in losing weight. If you are looking to lose weight or keep your weight loss, search for healthy snack bars that have no processed sweeteners.

This can be difficult, and you will often need to look for an all-natural food bar that does not contain any processed ingredients. An example would be a trail mix bar containing a mix of natural nuts and seeds with unsweetened coconut or dried fruit.

If you are looking for low sugar, high protein bars, there are some nut and seed bars with protein powder included, such as egg white protein powder. Many paleo athletes select these kinds of protein bars, since they do not include milk and they are gluten-free too.

Some Additional Benefits ...

Another benefit to consuming a low-sugar or no-sugar snack is that it will lower your appetite for more sugar. Have you ever consumed a high-calorie protein bar and immediately wanted more? This is likely a sugar craving, and consuming another bar will absolutely not help you reduce weight.

Low sugar, unprocessed health bars are generally simpler to digest and offer lots of nourishment naturally. Ingredients like nuts and coconut have a lot of healthy fats, and are for that reason helpful for satiating appetite and food yearnings.

Paleo protein bars are low in sugar and typically include a substantial amount of protein. Too see a comparison chart of different options, click right here.
